Wisconsin Football Coaching Rumors: Will Pep Hamilton Leave Stanford for Madison?

Updated 12/7/12 3:50pm ET

We are still in shock that Bret Bielema so quickly left Wisconsin to go down south to a struggling Arkansas team. Regardless there is one rumor starting to spread that makes a lot of sense for the Wisconsin coaching position.

Pep Hamilton, the offensive coordinator at Stanford, might be just the person the Badgers are looking for. He runs an extremely hard nosed football team that loves to run the ball. How does that not sound like a dream scenario for the Badgers program?

One downside to Pep is that he does not have any connection with the Badgers nor does he have any experience with the B1G. But he does have years of NFL experience, working as a position coach for the 49ers, Bears and Jets.

Pep embodies what it means to play Wisconsin football and we think he is someone that has an extremely high probability of coaching the Badgers next fall.
