Amari Cooper was his favorite target as he racked up 6 receptions for 88 yards and two TDs. Once again, the Kellen Moore offense racked up yards on the ground. Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard both racked up over 100 yards and both backs looked impressive against a bad Dolphins defense. Give plenty of credit to the Cowboys’ offensive line. DE Robert Quinn recorded a sack against his old team. It was a slow start for the defense too, but only 6 points allowed is really good. Now the question is, when will he get paid? Taco Charlton tweeted out on Monday “free me,” and the Cowboys wasted no time granting his request. With Robert Quinn returning from a 2 game suspension, the Cowboys had to cut someone and it’s no surprise to anyone, Taco was the odd man out. It is worth noting that Dallas tried to trade Charlton to the Houston Texans before the season, however, Taco didn’t really have much trade value due to his lack of production. Now, Charlton has his “chance” as he’s been claimed by the Miami Dolphins. Jalen Ramsey trade rumors just won’t stop. While there is no doubting Ramsey’s elite athleticism, signing him would force the Cowboys to go back-to-back drafts without a 1st round pick. Dallas Cowboys safety Xavier Woods suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 2 vs. the Washington Redskins and is expected to miss time and potentially as long as 4-6 weeks, including the upcoming game against the Miami Dolphins. With Xavier Woods’ status uncertain and the safety position thin, the Cowboys might consider bringing in some outside help to lineup opposite of Jeff Heath. Host Tom Downey throws out five options the Cowboys could sign as a replacement for Woods. Xavier Woods played in 86% of the defensive snaps for the Cowboys in 2018 som replacing him is a tall task. Eric Berry, former Kansas City Chief, was linked to the Cowboys back in free agency even coming to Dallas for a visit before the Cowboys ultimately moved on. Berry comes with his own set of concerns with recent injuries raising questions about his ability to stay on the field. Josh Jones, former 2nd round pick, is set to workout for the Cowboys today. Jones had a short lived career with the Green Bay Packers starting 12 games across two seasons before being waived in August.
