Duke Basketball News: Jim Boeheim Jokes About Coach K Stealing His Zone Defense

The Duke Blue Devils seem to have turned their season around following a big win over the Louisville Cardinals, where a 2-3 zone defense held Louisville to just 29.5 percent shooting.

This came a big surprise because Coach K has played almost strictly man-to-man defense throughout his career, but has started playing more zone since coaching Team USA with Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim. Boeheim employs solely a 2-3 zone with Orange, and joked about his impact on Coach K playing the zone he's made famous.

"I did ask for a little royalty check this week," Boeheim joked. "I haven't received it yet. I think it's probably lost in the mail some place. ... We've worked it during the times we've been together and he understands it's not that complicated."

Duke followed up with a win over Pitt on Monday. They will face St. John's Sunday at 2:00 p.m. ET as Coach K will go for his 1,000th career win.
