Markieff Morris expected to miss training camp due to surgery on sports hernia

Wizards training camp begins next week, but they will start without one of their key players.

Markieff Morris will have sports hernia surgery on Friday, according to a report by Candace Buckner of The Washington Post. Morris began experiencing sports hernia symptoms earlier this summer after informal workouts in Las Vegas in July and continuing them later on in Washington.

This is also not Morris’ first time having a hernia. In 2010, Morris also had hernia surgery before his junior season at Kansas. Though he missed the Jayhawks’ preseason activities, Morris played the entire season where he scored 13.
