Weekend Roundup: Washington Nationals vs. Colorado Rockies

Harris Teeter Food Drive will be held throughout the weekend

The Washington Nationals will wrap up their 10-day homestand this weekend when they take on the Colorado Rockies beginning Friday, July 8. The team’s week of games will conclude with the Harris Teeter Food Drive on Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10, when Nationals fans are encouraged to help those in need by bringing non-perishable food items to Nationals Park.

Volunteers will be stationed outside the Center Field Gate from the time gates open through the fourth inning collecting non-perishable items. Fans who donate food items at the ballpark will receive two tickets to one of three future games (July 26, Sept. 6 or Sept. 10) while supplies last.

Additional events and initiatives for the upcoming homestand include the following:

o   Tri-Color Cap: The first 10,000 fans 21 and up to enter Nationals Park will receive a red, white and blue cap presented by Miller Lite.

o   NATS U: Baseball for Women: Nationals fans are invited to attend NATS U: Baseball for Women, an in-depth, hands-on experience for both longtime baseball fanatics and newcomers to the game.
