The Washington Nationals will start a nine game road trip in Atlanta on Friday night. The Nats are trailing the Atlanta Braves by 8 games in the NL Wild Card standings and will play them 12 times over the next couple of months.
The Nats and Braves are 3-3 against each other this season and will play 12 times in the final 70 games of the season. The series this weekend is a big one in my opinion and we must not go down there and get swept if we want to stay in the Wild Card picture.
Livan Hernandez will face Tim Hudson in the series opener. I hope the time away from baseball during the MLB All-Star break will help the struggling Jayson Werth snap out of slump.
