UW’s Troy Rallings named Pac-12 pitcher of the year, first-team All-American

Washington closer Troy Rallings, whose record-setting season has led the Huskies back into the NCAA tournament, was named Thursday to the Louisville Slugger All-America first team and the Pac-12 Conference pitcher of the year.

He joins Tim Lincecum (who won the award in 2004 and 2006) as the only Huskies to be named conference pitcher of the year.

Rallings, whose 0.89 earned-run average in 28 appearances (61 innings) this season is a UW record and ranks second nationally, is UW’s first first-team All-American since Lincecum in 2006.
