Redskins 2018 Depth Chart Projections For 53-Man Roster

OTAs are nearing their conclusion around the NFL, which means it's time to take a look at how the Washington Redskins depth chart currently stands. The Redskins aren't done making moves, they could still sign a player or two and there are roster cuts before the season, but this is a projection of how the depth chart currently looks.

Not every player on the roster will be listed since there's no real need to include UDFAs who won't make the team. Instead, think of this as an expanded two-deep depth chart. And, with fall camp yet to begin, much can and probably will change. With that in mind, here's the current Redskins depth chart projection to make the 53-man roster:

Quarterback
Starter:

Alex Smith

Backups:
Colt McCoy
Kevin Hogan

The Redskins traded away Kirk Cousins and now have a new man under center for the 2018 season.

Running Back
Starter:
Derrius Guice

Backups:
Samaje Perine
Chris Thompson
Rob Kelley

The Redskins drafted Derrius Guice in the second round of the 2018 Draft which means the Samaje Perrine experiment is likely over. Look for Guice to handle the first two downs and Chris Thompson to be the third-down running back.

Fullback
Starter:

Elijah Wellman

Wide Receiver
Starters:
Jamison Crowder
Paul Richardson
Josh Doctson

Backups:
Maurice Harris
Brian Quick
Trey Quinn
Robert Davis
Simmie Cobbs

The Redskins need their wide receivers to step up in 2018, especially first-round draft pick in 2016 Josh Doctson.

Tight End
Starter:

Jordan Reed

Backups:
Vernon Davis
Jeremy Sprinkle

When Jordan Reed is healthy he is a difference maker. The issue is he is never healthy, so expect Vernon Davis to get plenty of playing time this season.

Offensive Line
Starters:
Trent Williams (LT)
Tony Bergstrom (LG)
Chase Roullier (C)
Brandon Scherff (RG)
Morgan Moses (RT)

Backups:
Cameron Jefferson
John Kling
Kyle Kalis
Demetrius Rhaney
T.J. Clemmings
Tyler Catalina

Defensive Line
Starters:
Jonathan Allen (LDE)
Ziggy Hood (NT)
Daron Payne (RDE)

Backups:
Stacy McGee
Phillip Taylor
Matthew Ioannidis

Washington needs its defensive line to step up in 2018, after they allowed the most rushing yards per game in 2017.

Linebackers
Starters:
Mason Foster (LILB)
Zach Brown (RILB)
Preston Smith (SLB)
Ryan Kerrigan (WLB)

Backups:
Martrell Spaight
Zach Vigil
Pernell McPhee
Ryan Anderson

The Redskins proved they could get after the quarterback last year, recording 42 sacks and a major reason was the play of their linebackers.

Secondary
Starters:
Orlando Scandrick  (RCB)
Josh Norman (LCB)
Deshazor Everett (SS)
D.J. Swearinger (FS)

Backups:
Quinton Dunbar
Fabian Moreau
Troy Apke
Montae Nicholson

Newly acquired Orlando Scandrick will need to step up and be a shutdown corner next to Josh Norman if Washington has any chance of winning the division

Special Teams
Starters:
Tress Way (P)
Dustin Hopkins (K)
Nick Sundberg (LS)
