TORONTO – Four turnovers led to four goals against, which were at least two too many for a Vancouver Canuck team that lost 4-2 tonight to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The reeling Canucks, who had two goals disallowed, surrendered a power-play goal for the sixth straight game and fell to 1-4-1 during their special-teams crisis. They are 1-3-1 on their National Hockey League road trip – and admit they were lucky to win the game they did – and now face a more formidable opponent than any they’ve seen.
The Canucks visit the Montreal Canadiens on Monday, before ending their season-long seven-game odyssey Wednesday against the brawny Winnipeg Jets.
