A few days ago the Sportsnet reported that John Cassaday will be announced as the replacement for Tim Leiweke as President and CEO of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment.
Cassaday was rumored to be in the running with NHL COO John Collins, was considered the front runner given that he wasn’t involved in the deal that cost one of the Maple Leafs owners the television contract.
Larry Tanenbaum can talk all he wants about no hard feelings but, when push comes to shove, corporations hold grudges.
Neither of the two candidates was as high profile as Tim Leiweke and shouldn’t affect Brendan Shanahan’s plan for the Toronto Maple Leafs as he has full support from anyone and everyone above him.
