The Toronto Maple Leafs are playing spoiler yet again at the end of the season, and doing a good job.
The Leafs and their fan base have grown a custom to being put in the “spoiler” role towards the end of the season, and this year is no different. With 8 games remaining in the 2015-2016 season, 5 of them are against teams currently in a playoff spot or battling to get into one.
Last season the Leafs were put in this spot fairly early after the horrendous ending to the year. Most fans were hoping they failed to embrace the role, and they almost got their wish as the Leafs finished the last 10 games 3-5-2 just missing out on McDavid.
