Toronto Maple Leafs: Andersen Should Win Vezina

The last time the Toronto Maple Leafs won the Stanley Cup, it was 1967. You have to go back even further – to 1965 – to find the last time a Leafs player won the Vezina Trophy. To no one’s surprise, that goalie was Johnny Bower, who was also their goalie when they won the Cup.

But think about it for a second: the Leafs haven’t won a Vezina Trophy, or a Stanley Cup since goalies started wearing masks.

In fact, since NHL expansion in the late 60s, the only major awards the Leafs have won are the Calder (Matthews) the Selke (Gilmour) the Bing (Mogilny) and the Jack Adams (Pat Burns).
