Ironically, the Toronto Maple Leafs picked up a point in their worst game so far, and took their only regulation loss in the best game they played so far.
Arguably it was the best game the Leafs have played with this core, under Mike Babcock.
So with that in mind, here are some stats and some thoughts on the opening week of the NHL season.

The Leafs strong start should get even better, as Mitch Marner and John Tavares are yet to meaningfully contribute at even-strength, at least as far as results go.
