The 5’11, 198-pound Kokkonen recorded the third most points by a U18 player in Liiga history with 19 points in 56 games for Jukurit this season while representing Finland at the U18s and adding two points in four games at the U20 Four Nations tournament.
Considered a well-rounded defenseman who owns a good shot from the point and a relatively safe, efficient puck-moving game, Kokkonen could use another step in his skating/footwork if he’s to successfully make the jump over to the North American pro game.
