Leafs remember Armstrong, outlast Flames 3-2

The Leafs had goals from Jake Muzzin, Wayne Simmonds and Auston Matthews in their 3-2 win in Calgary on Sunday.

Prior to the puck drop, a moment of silence was held in memory of George Armstrong, the legendary Leafs captain and Hall of Fame honoured member who passed away early in the day at age 90.

Simmonds’s goal was the player’s first as a Leaf, and also the 100th power play goal and 500th point of his NHL career.

Morgan Rielly collected three assists and was named the game’s first star.

Jack Campbell made 31 saves to notch his second victory of the season.
