Leafs minus Matthews defeat Oilers

Despite missing Auston Matthews and Joe Thornton from the lineup, the Leafs doubled up the Oilers 4-2 at Scotiabank Arena on Friday night.

Adam Brooks netted his first career NHL goal in the second period.

Jimmy Vesey recorded his second goal of the season, after receiving a slick pass from William Nylander

John Tavares had the game-winner, and Mitch Marner rounded out the scoring into an empty net.
