Leafs Fall To Senators In Shootout

TORONTO -- When three-on-three overtime didn't work, the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs took part in the first shootout of the NHL season.

Mike Hoffman scored the winner in that shootout as the Senators came back from blowing a three-goal lead to defeat the Leafs 5-4 Saturday night at Air Canada Centre.

Ottawa (2-0-0) and Toronto (0-2-1) went to the first shootout in the NHL's 19th game, thanks to Craig Anderson making seven saves in overtime.

Kyle Turris, Alex Chiasson, Milan Michalek and Mark Stone scored in regulation for the Senators, who got 37 saves in total from Anderson.
