Craig Berube highlights John Tavares’ selfless play to set up Leafs’ OT win

The Toronto Maple Leafs mercifully brought their five-game losing streak to an end, as they picked up a 3-2 overtime victory over the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday night. William Nylander played the role of hero after he scored the winning goal in overtime, after scoring in Toronto's own goal early in the game. But a lot of credit can be given to assistant captain John Tavares.

In overtime, Tavares lured three Blues players as he held the puck along the glass. That allowed Nylander to get onto the ice. As he did, Tavares kicked the puck towards Morgan Reilly, who then passed it to a wide open Nylander to unleash the game-winning shot.
