Roundup: Strasburg Is Placed on D.L. As Depleted Nationals Lose

Joey Votto hit a two-run homer — his second home run in two days — and Zack Cozart doubled with the bases loaded in the eighth inning, rallying the Cincinnati Reds to an 8-5 home victory over the Washington Nationals on Saturday.

Cozart’s double, which drove in two runs, highlighted a four-run inning off Casey Janssen (0-1). Billy Hamilton followed with a two-run single.

Washington, which leads the National League East, lost a second straight game for the first time since April 27, and a franchise-record streak of nine consecutive series wins came to an end.
