Toronto (Canada) (AFP) - The Toronto Blue Jays completed a stunning swoop for Colorado Rockies star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki in a trade which will see Jose Reyes head to Denver.

The move came ahead of Friday's non-waiver trade deadline and surprised Major League Baseball commentators who had expected Toronto to strengthen their pitching.

Tulowitzki, 30, has been chosen as an All-Star five times during his career and is widely viewed as one of the best shortstops in baseball.
