TAMPA — The Lightning has questions to answer as NHL free agency opens at noon on Monday. Most of those questions involve Brayden Point and San Jose center Joe Pavelski.
Tampa Bay has interest in Pavelski. The 34-year-old center spent a couple of days in Tampa during the interview period.
He was spotted at lunch with Julien BriseBois and was given a tour of the practice facility at the Ice Sports Forum. He also visited Dallas and is still open to returning to San Jose, according to TSN’s Pierre LeBrun.

He’s one of the best net-front presences in the league, and that’s something Tampa Bay doesn’t truly have.
