Surveying the NHL Buyers – Central Division

Looking at five teams in the Metropolitan Division that could be buyers by Monday’s NHL trade deadline.

After looking at a number of clubs that potentially could be sellers prior to the February 24th trade deadline, we now take a look at the shopping list of the buyers in the Western Conference. The selling began earlier this month when the Toronto Maple Leafs added veteran goalie Jack Campbell and winger Kyle Clifford from the LA Kings and continued last week with the Penguins acquiring winger Jason Zucker from Minnesota.

With less than 48 hours to go, most of the top pending unrestricted free agent defensemen have been dealt, which has the Maple Leafs contemplating dealing Tyson Barrie and his expiring contract if they get the right deal.
