Well, this is a momentous result for Lyon after a difficult start to the season. They survived a few big Werner chances to go in at half time leading after Depay latched onto a defensive error to poke past Gulasci. However, they were much more comfortable in the second half. Leipzig struggled to engineer any real openings and eventually, Upamecano made a disastrous error that presented Terrier with a simple one-on-one that he finished calmly. After that, the hosts looked bereft of ideas and simply couldn't break down a determined Lyon defence.
