The new MLS season has kicked off and Sporting Kansas City picked up a 3-1 win on the road against the Vancouver Whitecaps. Closer to home, the Kansas City Comets were on the road against the St. Louis Ambush, but a short handed Comets team fell 5-4 all but ending their hopes of making a playoff run this year.
