Barcelona were expected to activate the release clause in Nico Williams' release clause this week but it seems the proposed transfer may have hit a hitch.
According to Mundo Deportivo, negotiations have stalled which have taken Barcelona by surprise and left the club worried.
Nico's agent is said to want guarantees over his registration as they do not want a repeat of Barca's saga from last season with Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.
Williams is said to have had similar doubts last season which is why he ended up staying put and Barca moved for Olmo instead.
