Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen not convinced surgery is best option for back problem

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is reportedly “not convinced” he will undergo surgery to cure a back problem that is currently troubling the stopper.

Ter Stegen has been training alone at the start of pre-season and has reportedly been advised by medical staff to go under the knife.

According to Diario AS, the goalkeeper “isn’t keen” on having another operation and has asked for some thinking time as he mulls over the next course of action.

Ter Stegen spent the majority of last season out injured after having surgery on a knee problem and is facing another four months out if he does agree to an operation.
