Barcelona loanee Arda Turan has been handed a massive 16 game ban by Turkish football authorities after he vented his fury at an assistant referee during Basaksehir’s 1-1 draw with Sivasspor earlier this month.
The draw was a big blow to Basaksehir’s title hopes, and after Sivasspor equalised in stoppage time Arda Turan lost the plot completely and raged at the linesman.
Arda was promptly sent off but he’s now set for a really, really long time on the sidelines after been banned for 16 games.
The midfielder joined Basaksehir on a two-and-a-half year loan deal in January, although Barcelona did retain the right to sell him between now and the end of his contract.
