JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Just go ahead and build that Jim McElwain statue outside of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
The already improbable first season for McElwain at Florida got even better, as his 11th-ranked Gators (7-1, 5-1 SEC) topped archrival Georgia (5-3, 3-3) 27-3. The Gators didn't need much from its offense, but their defense and special teams were outstanding, forcing three turnovers, one of which resulted in a touchdown off a Georgia muffed punt.
Quarterback Treon Harris wasn't as efficient as he was in the loss to LSU a couple of weeks ago, but he made couple of big plays in the face of pressure, including a desperation 66-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Callaway in the second quarter to put Florida up 13-0.
