The 3 Best True Freshmen In The SEC So Far This Season

The SEC is one of the most storied conferences in college football as all 14 teams are loaded with the talent that comes from having most of the nation's top recruiting classes every year. Because of that, many freshmen are making great contributions to their teams right away Here are the three best true freshmen in the SEC so far this season:

3) Minkah Fitzpatrick, DB, Alabama Crimson Tide

Surprise, a top recruit is already making plays all over the field at Alabama. Fitzpartick had a real breakout performance against Texas A&M, picking off Aggies quarterback Kyle Allen twice - and returning both of those interceptions for touchdowns. He's also been making plays all season, racking up 24 tackles and two sacks.

2) Christian Kirk, WR, Texas A&M Aggies

Kirk has taken advantage of Texas A&M's wide open offense to the tune of 609 yards and four touchdowns on 39 catches, and already has three games with over 100 yards receiving. His combination of speed, strength, and ball skills have already made him one of the most dangerous threats in the conference.

1) Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama Crimson Tide

Ridley has taken Amari Cooper's place as Alabama's go-to receiver, leading the team in receptions (38), yards (437), and touchdowns (three), most of which have come in the past three games (21 catches, 312 yards, two TDs). His progression has been key to Alabama's resurgence on offense, and there are very few cornerbacks who have shown the ability to cover him this season.
