Mariners among several teams in attendance for Tim Lincecum’s showcase in Kent

The showcase was held at Driveline Baseball in Kent. Lincecum's fastball was clocked around 90-92 mph.

The Mariners were one of 20-plus teams that scouted the pitching showcase for former Liberty High and Washington standout Tim Lincecum at the Driveline Baseball facility in Kent on Thursday afternoon.

Per a National League scout in attendance, Lincecum’s fastball ranged from 90-92 mph, but sat mostly at 91 mph. He threw all four of his pitches and kept them around the strikezone with “a better shape and bite to his curveball than in past years.”

“The split changeup remains the better weapon for me, but there’s not a real out pitch there,” the scout said.
