SAN JOSE — Joe Pavelski scored the go-ahead goal with 2:40 to go in the third period and Martin Jones finished with 37 saves as the Sharks beat the Nashville Predators 3-2 on Sunday at SAP Center to take a two-games-to-none lead in the second round playoff series.

Pavelski also assisted on Logan Couture's power-play goal late in the second period, and Joe Thornton added an empty-net goal with 55.6 seconds to go, the eventual winner, as the Sharks held serve on home ice before they head to Nashville for games 3 and 4 on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively.
