SAN JOSE — Perhaps the biggest difference between the Sharks and the Vegas Golden Knights in their second round playoff series was the play of their respective top lines.
The Sharks’ top line of Joe Pavelski, Evander Kane and Joonas Donskoi never seemed to gather any momentum during the six-game series, which ended with a 3-0 Vegas win Sunday at SAP Center.
The Golden Knights’ top line of William Karlsson, Jonathan Marchessault and Reilly Smith, on the other hand, almost never slowed down, and provided the difference once again on a second period goal that ended up as the game-winner.
