Purdy: Logan Couture punctuates record-breaking series and Sharks' Game 7 breakthrough

SAN JOSE -- Another series, won. More demons, gone.

This time, the Sharks banished the ghosts and specters of their past playoff failures from SAP Pavilion and exiled them back to the Cow Palace basement where they were birthed 25 years ago.In a stirring Game 7 performance here Thursday, the Sharks defeated Nashville's Predators, 5-0, and advanced to the Western Conference finals. It turned out the Sharks were right. Over the previous two days, their unanimous talking point was that if they brought their "A" game to the rink, the Nashville Predators were not going to win Thursday.
