The Sharks’ first goal of the postseason came in unusual fashion Wednesday night.
Captain Joe Pavelski slid into his customary spot in front of the Marc-Andre Fleury, hunting for a tip-in goal on the Sharks power play.
His chance came, and he took it on the chin.
He redirected a wrist shot from Brent Burns at the right point off his face and into the Vegas net, giving San Jose a 1-0 lead in Game 1 of their series against the Vegas Golden Knights.
