SAN JOSE – On Tuesday morning, Sharks coach Pete DeBoer and forward Joe Thornton both spoke about the importance of putting another winning streak together. A game against the worst team in the league, in the first of a four-game homestand presented the perfect opportunity.
It was squandered. The Sharks dropped a 5-2 decision to Columbus, which improved to 3-10-0 on the season, and failed to build off of Sunday’s win in Colorado.
San Jose has not won consecutive games since starting the season with four victories. They fell to 6-6-0, losing six of their last eight in regulation.
