FT. LAUDERDALE – The rotating alternates experiment is over.
After a season in which the Sharks didn’t have a player serving as captain for the first time in franchise history, new coach Peter DeBoer told CSNCalifornia.com on Friday that the team would name one before opening night. The Sharks kick off the 2015-16 season on Oct. 7 in Los Angeles.
It will likely take most of training camp for DeBoer to decide on the official leadership group, which will likely include at least two alternates.

“I’m going to take some time to get to know the group,” DeBoer said.
