NEW YORK – Tim Lincecum’s long-awaited showcase for major league clubs will be held on Friday in Scottsdale, Ariz., according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network.
And yes, the Giants will be there – along with up to 20 other clubs.
Lincecum has been throwing for the past three weeks at the Giants’ minor league complex in Scottsdale, Ariz., after asking for and securing permission from the club.
Giants GM Bobby Evans said the arrangement is a mere courtesy and doesn’t signal that there have been any substantive talks between Lincecum and the Giants about reuniting on a contract.
