Padres 'very active' on Tim Lincecum

PEORIA, Ariz. — The Padres have been "very active" on Tim Lincecum, the right-hander's agent said Monday on The Mighty 1090.

Lincecum, who won two Cy Young awards with San Francisco and no-hit the Padres twice, underwent hip surgery in September and has been throwing daily, including off a mound "every other day," according to Rick Thurman of Beverly Hills Sports Council.

Thurman said Padres baseball-operations advisor Trevor Hoffman, who was represented by Thurman during his playing career, and player-personnel director Logan White have been in contact about Lincecum, a free agent. General Manager A.J. Preller also has spoken with Thurman.
