Toronto needed to win only one of the final three games to punch their ticket to the second round, where the Winnipeg Jets have been waiting since dispatching the Edmonton Oilers in four straight games. But the Leafs failed to capitalize on their chances, dropping all three games, the first two of which came in overtime.
