Portland Thorns FC goalkeeper Adrianna Franch is a finalist for the first-ever “Best NWSL Player” honors at the 2018 ESPYS.
Franch is among four nominees, which also include Chicago Red Stars’ Sam Kerr, Seattle Reign FC’s Megan Rapinoe and North Carolina Courage’s Sam Mewis.
Franch took home NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year honors last season with an NWSL single-season record 11 shutouts and helping anchor a Portland defense which posted a 0.83 goals-against average at home in 2017. She named an NWSL Best XI selection after helping the club win the 2017 NWSL title.
