Children and parents lined the outside of the glass, hoping to catch a glimpse of hometown hero Auston Matthews as he skated in practice with his Toronto Maple Leafs teammates on Friday at the Ice Den Scottsdale.
The Ice Den, which permits the public to view NHL practices at no charge, only sees a handful of spectators during Coyotes practices but was flooded with people at the Maple Leafs’ skate, which took place in the third rink in the back of the building.
