The Orlando Magic and forward Tobias Harris had until midnight on Halloween to strike a deal on a contract extension. That didn't come to pass, sending Harris to restricted free agency come July 1st, 2015.

Per Evan Dunlap of SBNation, "according to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders, Harris' representatives and the Magic "have not had 'negotiations' on his deal for some time." Orlando's plan, Kyler says, seems to be to match an offer sheet for Harris."

Since he was traded to Orlando in February 2013, Harris has average 15.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per game in 90 appearances (58 starts).

Harris' production and size makes him the perfect restricted agent for a lot of teams looking for help in the frontcourt. However, don't count out the Magic with a likely-to-expand salary cap, especially if Harris continues to produce throughout the 2014-15 NBA campaign.
