SAN FRANCISCO – Luke Heimlich has been named the Pac-12 Conference Pitcher of the Year for the second consecutive season and Cadyn Grenier is the Defensive Player of the Year – the third Beaver in a row to claim the honor – as the league announced its annual awards on Thursday afternoon.
Heimlich becomes the first pitcher in the conference to win the honor in back-to-back seasons since Arizona State's Mike Leake in 2008 and 2009. The two join Tim Lincecum (2004 and 2006) as the only pitchers to be recognized twice since the then-Pac-10 unified prior to the 1999 season.
