The last decade of Toronto Maple Leafs’ history has been comprised of disappointing season after disappointing season. Aside from their brief appearance in the in the 2013 playoffs, where they lost to the Boston Bruins, the Maple Leafs have not made an extended playoff run since 2004.
The Maple Leafs have gone through a number of coaches over the past few years. Paul Maurice (2006- 2008), Ron Wilson (2008-2012), Randy Carlyle (2012- 2015), and Peter Horachek (interim in 2015) have all served as head coach in Toronto, but were unable to set the struggling team on the right track.
