The Rangers are in the midst of a fantastic offseason. Jeff Gorton has been able to repair the Rangers defense in signing top free agent Kevin Shattenkirk and buying out veteran Dan Girardi. However, to do so, Gorton was forced to clear some cap space.
That cap space came in the form of top center Derek Stepan. Even now, Gorton has not found an adequate replacement for Stepan. Rumors have surround the Rangers and the Maple Leafs for years now regarding a particular center.
The tires on Tyler Bozak have been kicked for years now, yet nothing has come of it.
