TORONTO — While RJ Barrett will work out with the Knicks on Monday in Tarrytown, the former Duke swingman made a pit stop in Memphis on Sunday to meet with Grizzlies officials, according to an NBA source. Barrett only interviewed and did not work out.
The Grizzlies have the second pick in the June 20 draft and last month ESPN reported they had zeroed in on Murray State point guard Ja Morant, leaving Barrett for the Knicks. However, Morant underwent arthroscopic knee surgery two weeks ago amid a report the club had softened on him.
Morant probably will miss the Las Vegas summer league because of the surgery.
