Saints at Raiders game recap: Everything we know

Nothing went on script for the New Orleans Saints on Monday night. Emmanuel Sanders — the Raiders slayer with 13 strong games against them to his credit — didn’t catch a single pass until there was just a minute left in regulation. The defensive secondary that was the talk of training camp committed penalty after penalty and misplayed coverage after coverage.

New Orleans’ team leaders came up short. Drew Brees, Cameron Jordan, and Malcolm Jenkins each failed to make a positive impact.

So: it was ugly. The Saints are 1-1 now, and it’s going to be tough to learn much from this performance.
