Bears tried to trade up with Patriots in second round of 2025 NFL draft

While the 2025 NFL draft is in the books, there are still details emerging about the Chicago Bears' attempting to trade up in the second round.

It's no secret that the Bears were in the market for a running back, be it Ashton Jeanty (who was off the board at sixth overall) or TreVeyeon Henderson or Quinshon Judkins (who were gone before Chicago's second rounder). And there have been multiple reports in the previous weeks about the Bears inquiring about trading up in an effort to land one of those second-round running backs.

In a new behind-the-scenes video released by the New England Patriots, it was revealed that Chicago inquired about flipping second rounders (New England's 38th for the Bears' 39th) and the Patriots acquiring an additional seventh-round selection.
