With the final week of the College Football season in the books, we are now entering conference championship week. The old saying defense wins championships is true and considering that four of these teams will be fighting for a conference championship is telling. Michigan is the only team in our top six defenses who aren't in the Top 25.

6) Auburn Tigers
The Tigers make the list because no team is playing better football than the Auburn Tigers. In the last three weeks, they have beaten Georgia and Alabama who were both ranked number 1 at the time. The defense also held both Alabama and Georgia to under 17 points. The Tigers on the season are 11th in total defense but considering their competition they are a top six on our board.
The Georgia Bull Dogs enter will battle the Auburn Tigers in the SEC title game and a big reason for their success is due to their defense. Georgia has given up 18 touchdowns this season and is giving up on average 271.9 yards per game which is fourth best in all of college football.
The Tigers are the fourth best defense in the country and is a reason why they are ranked number one in the country. They have allowed 19 touchdowns this season and 283.3 yards per game. The Tigers have the talent but need to show up every game, because if they show up every game they could easily be number one.
The Wolverines are not in the top 25 but that is not because of their defense. The Michigan defense this season is allowing 268.6 points a game which is third best in college football. They have however 27 touchdowns against them and they are the only team on this list that has given up more than 20 touchdowns on the season.

The Crimson Tide suffered their first loss of the season to the Auburn Tigers this past week 26 -14. Alabama is giving u 257.8 yards per game which is the second-best in college football. The Tide have allowed only 16 touchdowns this season which is second best in the country.
The only undefeated team on the list and in the Top 10 according to the latest AP Poll. The Badgers are ranked first in the country with 236.9 yards per game, 4.02 yards per play, and 15 touchdowns allowed this season. The Badgers defense and running game are carrying the team to a Big Ten title opportunity.
