The 3 Best Sweet 16 Games To Watch This Week

Only 16 teams are left in the NCAA Tournament after numerous top teams fell over the weekend, but there's still plenty of good basketball on tap this Thursday and Friday. Here are the three Sweet 16 games that you need to watch:

Midwest Region: (1) Kentucky vs. (5) West Virginia

Thursday, March 26

9:45 p.m. ET

Kentucky is the first men's Division-I team to ever reach the 36-0 mark, and their pursuit of perfection will be tested by the Mountaineers, who's aggressive press defense gives them a chance to win every game they're in. The Wildcats are always must-see TV, and West Virginia's press could cause them problems.WVU beat a Kentucky team led by John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins in the 2010 Elite 8 by  playing this style, so the Mountaineers have confidence they can pull the upset.

West Region: (1) Wisconsin vs. (4) North Carolina

Thursday, March 26

7:27 p.m. ET

Wisconsin and UNC are both big teams that focus on getting the ball to the post, but the two do so through totally different styles. The Badgers like to slow the ball down and play methodically, while the Tar Heels like to run and see if they can get points in transition. North Carolina has the athletic bigs that can give Wisconsin star center Frank Kaminsky problems, making for one of the most intriguing Sweet 16 matchups.

South Region: (1) Duke vs. (5) Utah

Friday, March 27

9:45 p.m. ET

Duke is one of the best offensive teams in the country, averaging over 80 points a game, while Utah is one of the best defensive teams in the country, allowing just 56.9 points per game. This is a classic strength-vs.-strength matchup, and should make for some good battles - and high-quality basketball - on that end of the floor.
